Players vs. Environment

For English Learners

Real English Practice Through Play

5 remote/virtual classes | 2 hours each class | 15 hours total

Students will strengthen their English listening, speaking, writing, teamwork, and leadership skills by working together to protect a village, negotiate with villagers, and complete survival missions—learning how communication directly shapes their success.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Use English to communicate clearly with a native speaker, including speaking and writing for specific tasks.

  2. Express agreement, disagreement, and negotiation in English during teamwork discussions.

  3. Solve problems collaboratively in English, using clear communication to coordinate actions with classmates.

  4. Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding teammates, making decisions, and communicating needs in English.

  5. Plan, delegate, and organize tasks within a group to keep the village functioning and protected.

  6. Use English with confidence and motivation, understanding that English is necessary to complete missions and interact with villagers (the teacher).

  7. Recognize the results of their choices, seeing how effective or ineffective communication directly affects the success or failure of their village.

10+ Years of Teaching Experience

I have worked with international students ages 18+ for 10+ years, and American children ages 8+ for 5 years.

I love creating a fun and stimulating learning environment for all of my students, and know how to help English learners feel confident and comfortable as they learn and grow in the classroom and in advising.

"This class was awesome. Both my son and daughter love Caroline. She is super patient and kind. My daughter has terrible anxiety and Caroline was so calm and positive that she loved going to class."
